Fagus Wooden Toys at Carl and Me

>> Wednesday, May 12, 2010

I bet you are wondering about that brand name, huh? Fagus means beech in Latin and Fagus Wooden Toys are made out of beech wood. The wonderful wooden cars, trucks and accessories by Fagus are made in a workshop in Germany without nails, screws and staples, are interlocked, doweled and glued together by hand and are made to last.

I love that these Fagus toys are have lots of little details. The Car Transporter is steerable and comes with 1 wooden car and 3 figures. The upper deck folds down as a ramp. The skip truck is steerable and comes with 1 skip and 3 figures.

These sturdy toys also have lots of details. This steerable wooden articulated truck comes complete with 2 pallets, 2 cargo boxes, and three wooden figures. I know my son and daughter could have hours of fun filling the boxes and stacking the pallets. Kids can cart the cargo away by using the guiding knob on the roof of the cab. Just imagine the possibilities when used in conjuction with the crane, forklift, conveyor belt and excavator! The jeep has three removable peg figures in assorted colors, a removable gas canister and guiding the wooden bar on the windshield will turn the front wheels of this wooden jeep. The rear hitch is great for hooking up the Fagus Horse Box, Safari Trailer or other tow items.

All toys have a high educational value and many of the Fagus vehicles have won the "Spiel Gut" good toy design, awarded to toys of great educational and play value. The toys have been designed to encourage independent play and spark imaginations whilst meeting the high safety standards demanded from German toy makers.

Fagus is just one line of toys carried at CarlandMe.com. Go ahead and check out the great selection of safe toys that will spark the imaginations of young minds as well as the young at heart! You can get 10% off your order with the code "tees."

Carl and Me.com Has Some Really Great Wooden Toys!

>> Monday, April 12, 2010

My son's third birthday is coming right up so I am making a wish list. Check out some of the great toys I found at Carl and Me.com

This adorable JIMMY transporter and cars are made of untreated, natural wood in the USA. Leo, like most boys, loves cars!! I know he would love stacking the cars as well as rolling and pushing them along. I think Leo would love to get to paint these cars too!

This BAUFIX Construction set looks absolutely amazing! Wow! It says that he'd be able to build 11 different models or simply invent his own using instructions that cleverly demonstrate how to build the different models using pictures only. I know that working to build models develops fine motor skills, logical thinking, creativity, and hand-eye coordination. This looks like a toy I could have fun with!

This Wooden Pedal Car Kit is too cute! I also think it would be great for him to watch his daddy put it together and to get to help build it because it comes ready to assemble.

If you would like to make a Carl and Me toys wish list too, check them out and save 10% on your order by using the code "tees"!

Then, I decided I should get her something that I didn't get but wished I had know to register for. These toys are the first toys that my children really loved. Good basics that really last! Waltertoy by NIC Teething Ring and Grip-n-Car

Walter Toys Doggy and Rolling Shape Sorter These ones still get played with even at ages 2 and 5!

I love the selection of Walter Toys at Carl and Me.These wooden Walter toys are made of natural raw materials and are particularly sturdy and baby-friendly. These toys promote the development of all of the infant's senses and are optimized to help babies observe and grasp their environments in their first years of life. I think I will go this route for my friends's baby shower and I think she will love them as much as I do when she sees her baby play with them!

I want some new wooden toys from
Carl and Me!

>> Friday, February 12, 2010

Yesterday, I woke up to a mess! I went to bed to it also but I guess I was too tired to register it! Anyway, there were toys everywhere. It put me into a cleaning frenzy. I decided I had picked up many of those plastic toys way too many times. Especially the ones that come apart into 15 pieces and never seem to be fully assembled and the ones that always run out of batteries! I got some bags out and made a very nice pile to bring to Good Will.

I am ready to fung shui my place (the principle that a good environment enhances our wellbeing and helps us relax). So I headed on over to Carl and Me to make up a birthday shopping list for my two cuties that will please them and keep my place feeling greener and cleaner.

Look at some of my hot picks!

Fagus Forklift Loader. I can see Leo and Sierra having a blast with this one. They love manipulating things and making them work!

This Fagus Car Loader would keep Leo super happy as he loves cars and loading and unloading them is his kind of game!

NIC Wooden Toys - Runnic Walker would be perfect for Sierra. She wants to learn to ride a bike and a friend of mine has this for her son and he loves it. Because it is a little lower to the ground and doesn't have pedals that get in the way, he is able to learn his balance and he zooms around on that thing!

NIC Wooden Toys - Weaving Frame Susi This one looks like a toy that Sierra would dig! Her aunt was just showing her how to knit a scarf and I think she would love this!

Carl & Me will donate 10% of every order until March 31st to Save the Children for the suffering children of Haiti. Plus, the owners have decided to give my readers a special 10% discount, just use code "tees"! They do same day shipping for all toys in stock too so head on over and take a peak at Carl and Me.com!

Oh! Toys- Unique, Creative Toys and Reader Discount

>> Sunday, January 24, 2010

Sometimes, I find that life sweeps you along and that an opportunity or an interest can put you in a place you never knew you were going! That is what happened to the owner of Oh! Toys. About 10 years ago, a Cuboro building block and marble run toy gift for his young daughters, wound up fascinating him as much as it did them! He fell in love with its wonderful design and it's developmental and educational qualities and he wound up starting Oh! Toys. The company mission evolved quickly to his simple purpose: To provide cool toys that are otherwise hard to find. The main criteria in selecting toys for his website are that they be educational, and developmentally and creatively stimulating.

I love the Oh! Toys website because it is visually appealing and well organized. I like the product pictures and headings and I like that shopping is made easy and to your taste as you can pick to shop by most popular toys, brand, price, activity, toy type, child's age, or by what's on sale.

I had never heard of Cuboro before I discovered Oh!Toys but I am naturally curious about this toy that inspired a father to start a business around it. So what is Cuboro? "It is an ingenious wooden building block and marble run toy from Switzerland. Cuboro allows endless combinations and designs... Cuboro is truly a "heritage toy" -- one which not only can be passed from one generation to the next, but which children will come back to time and again as they grow and become more sophisticated about their creations." This is indeed an intriguing toy!

Oh! Toys has looked for the unusual, "out-of-the-mainstream" products that you and your children will play with and remember for a long time. Oh! Toys has agreed to give my readers a special 15% discount off the merchandise total. Just use promo code MWYTOH15! Great Wooden Toys at Carl & Me and a Special Discount for my Readers!

>> Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Carl and Me is a great online store started by a stay at home dad. I love the story of how it got started. Carl's dad says, "We went to every major retailer and found mainly battery driven, plastic toys that played with Carl instead of letting him play with them. They got boring really quickly and were rarely played with again. He kept playing with his old favourites from relatives in Europe - wooden blocks, cars and trains - and always came up with a bunch of different ideas and stories to play out. The problem then was finding such toys here in the USA and that's when I decided to not only import them but to look for toys of the same high quality right here in the USA."

They carry really unique, amazing toys. I really think "wow", when I see all the great toys, so imaginative, fun and not plastic! You can shop for toys be category or by brand. The Waltertoys are a great line of beginner toys that really caught my eye. Walter toys are made of natural raw materials and are particularly sturdy and child-friendly. Some times these toys look so simple that you don't realize how much your child will love them. I received the Walter Toys - Hammering Bench "Hau-Raus" as a gift for my son Leo when he was about a year and half and I had no idea how much he would love it. He is almost 3 and he still plays with it all the time. It is always a big hit at playgroups. Even my 4 year old daughter likes playing with it! This toy has gotten tons of use.

You will love Carl and Me toys! And here is the best part- the owners have decided to give my readers a special 10% discount, just use code "tees"! They do same day shipping for all toys in stock too so head on over and take a peak at Carl and Me.com
