>> Thursday, May 13, 2010

wine trailsIf you love wine, you will love Road Trips for Wine! This site covers everything related to wine- Wineries Off The Beaten Path, Road Trips for Wine Top 10 Best Wine Picks, Must attend wine festivals and events, Must attend Wine Tastings, and even Wine Widgets and Gadgets!

I love the photos on Road Trips for Wine! Check out these ones from her article on Wine Trails on Rails. Spectacular. "The Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf Wine Themed Experience is a fabulous way to road trip through Canada," she writes and I already agree. Those photo makes me want to pack my bags!

wine on tapFeatures include her favorite wine finds. Of course, her article on wines on tap caught my eye! She writes, "Did you ever imagine you would walk into a bar and ask what wines they have on tap? Well, imagine, because those days are here. The new trend throughout California is wine on tap, and it is all for the purpose of going green." How cool is that?

I'd love to try this wine the Silvertap organic wine she talks about! "At the forefront of making wine for the tap, or wine in the keg, is Silvertap, a Free Flow Wines Brand based out of Sonoma County, California. They grow and source sustainably farmed and organic grapes in some of the top vineyards. They deliver quality selections in kegs, that are made of lightweight refillable recycled material, which makes them easier to handle and reusable."

You can visit Road Trips for Wine to read all about everything to do with wine! You can also follow her adventures on Twitter and learn about upcoming wine events@roadtrips4wine.

Where is the Wine?

>> Thursday, March 25, 2010

There is currently a Red, White, and Food Campaign going on in Tennessee! Each state has its own liquor laws and here in Tennessee it is sold in liquor stores while beer is sold in supermarkets and conveince stores. The Red, White, and Food Campaign aims to make wine available in food stores.

I do think being able to purchase wine in a grocery store would be really nice. I really only use wine for cooking but it is very inconvenient to purchase at the moment and the stuff they call "cooking wine" at the grocery store gives your food a terrible flavor! I would have to drive quite far to the closest liquor store and then I would have to take my kids in with me and 2 children under five and tons of glass bottles is not a recipe for success!

If you are interested in learning more about the campaign to get wine into food stores, visit the Red, White and Food Website.

I think it would be great to have wine available in retail food stores. What do you think?
