Blisscuits as a Healthy Snack
>> Thursday, November 18, 2010
I have discovered another healthy snack. Typically, I am not much of a snacker but I am pregnant right now so I am always hungry! Blisscuits are a new all-natural nutritious snack. Mariel Hemingway, actress, model, author and founder of Mariel’s Kitchen, created Blisscuits which kind of look like biscuits and taste like cookies. The nutrients in Blisscuits come from whole natural and organic foods which help give you balanced health and energy, while satisfying your hunger and your sweet tooth.
"Neither a health bar nor a traditional cookie, Blisscuits™ are part of a new building category known as "functional food". No refined sugar – still sweet – low carbs – no wheat with a gluten free recipe – high comfort – real food and Blisscuits help to boost your immune system!"
Some Things I like About Blisscuits:
All natural
No trans fat
40% organic
Cholesterol free
Cage-free eggs
Gluten free
Omega-3 fatty acids
No refined sugar
They come in four flavors. First my son and I tried the Orange. It really hit the spot. I was having morning sickness when I first woke up and didn't feel like fixing anything so I opened the orange Blisscuit package and my son and I each had one. They are really quite filling and it bought me about an hour before I had to go fix our real breakfast. It was yummy and very much like a macaroon to me in flavor and consistency.
Next we tried the Chocolate Blisscuit after dinner one night. This one did not really go over as well with my son. When he heard chocolate cookie, he was thinking of something much sweeter! I liked it however and it had little chocolate nibs in it that were super yummy. They say, "One's a snack, two's almost a meal™" and really they are totally right about this as they are quite filling.
Blisscuit's are also available in Lemon and Cinnamon. Blisscuits are nationally distributed and can be purchased at select retailers throughout the country as well as at marielsblisscuits.com You might give these a try if you are looking for an easy health snack on the go!
Blisscuits were provided to me in the hopes that I would share my honest opinions. No monetary compensation was provided and the opinions expressed are my own.
