Labor Day: My daughter now understands the beauty of a holiday!

My daughter started kindergarten this year and Labor Day is her first experience with a holiday in its best since. Going to school five days in a row has been a real shock to her so when I explained that this Monday was a holiday so she wouldn't have to go to school, she exclaimed, "I love holidays!" with a zeal that let me knew she really understands what we all love about holidays- no work, no school! Yay!

Origin of Labor Day
The first Labor Day rally, in 1882, was in support of an eight-hour workday, a reduction from the existing 12 hour workday. Wow! It really is a time to remember how far we have come- no child labor, benefits and paid vacation. We all have it made so Happy Labor Day!
