Nature's Hand Granola: Delicous and Nutritious

>> Thursday, May 6, 2010

I love granola! I love it because it makes me feel good to eat something that it is good for me, plus it is yummy!

I recently tried Nature’s Hand Granola and it is a great-tasting granola the whole family can love for its many uses from baking to snacking to cereal mixer, and it’s made right here in the U.S.A. It has 20g of whole grain per 1/4 cup serving. The Whole Grains Council recommends that we eat 48g or more of whole grains per day. How many do you think you get? It also offers 4g of fiber per 1/4 cup serving. I feel great about getting all that into my diet! Even better? It is all natural and has no added salt, no added preservatives, no trans fats, no added artificial flavors, and it is delicious.

"The first batch of Nature’s Hand granola was baked in 1971 using a homemade recipe carefully crafted by German-born immigrants in Burnsville, Minnesota. Their sweet, hearty granola was a hit – fast becoming a favorite of friends and family. So they decided to share their homemade recipe with the public and Nature’s Hand Granola was born."

My kids and I tried it several ways. I enjoyed it all by itself in a bowl with milk for breakfast. My kids loved it as a snack on top of their yogurt. And we all agreed that is was super, super, super good in cookies! It pours and sprinkles evenly so it is great for baking. We used a recipe for granola chocolate chip cookies that I found on Nature's Path Recipe Page. I have to tell you that I really loved them and I will be making this recipe again. In fact, I already have. First, I tried it with Vanilla Almond and then with Cranberry Apricot. Both superb!

Nature's Hand comes in seven great varieties. Coconut Cashew was really good and maple pecan was another of my favorites. The granola comes in convenient, resealable pouches and they contain a full pound of granola. You can use their store locator or order online at Nature’s Hand Granola. You can also follow Nature's Hand on Twitter @naturalgranola.

Nature's Hand did provide me with granola to sample in the hopes that I would share my honest opinions. I did not receive any monetary compensation and the opinions expressed are my own.
