Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review and Giveaway

>> Sunday, April 11, 2010

I find that a lot of people are unfamiliar with coconut oil. I love it! I often get dry skin and I find it is really fantastic for hydrating my skin. I just rub it on my legs and it smells good and goes on shiny but sinks in quickly. I also use it for baking as a healthy and tasty replacement for butter.

I recently found Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. I found it intriguing because most coconut oil being sold is mass-produced by machines but Tropical Traditions is committed to time-honored traditional methods of making it by hand. This unrefined coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw and surrounding areas from organic coconuts. Coconuts are used fresh (within 24-48 hours of harvest) from small family farms. The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world! "Independent laboratory analysis shows this to be one of the highest quality coconut oils on the market, having the highest levels of antioxidants. This enhanced Virgin Coconut Oil is now in the US market under the Tropical Traditions Gold Label brand."

I was very pleased with the taste of the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. I also noticed that when it was in its liquid state it had a clarity that my other brand did not. I suppose that is related to the method of extraction that Tropical Traditions uses. We made a batch of banana chocolate chip muffins with with the coconut oil instead of butter of oil and it was just delicious! You can check out a whole bunch of recipes for coconut oil here. My daughter also tested it out on her legs and it is so moisturizing and sunk right in.

Right now is an excellent time to give Tropical Traditions a try because they are having their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil on sale Buy 1 Get 1 FREE until Thursday April 15th only.
